I thought it was fascinating to see a relationship deal with something like this head on and watch how Lucas is trying to both handle his depression but also not keep it from Gabriel. Gabriel is dealing with some heavy mental health issues throughout the book, which in turn makes Lucas deal with them as well. I didn’t necessarily think fluffy going in but maybe light-hearted would be more accurate? That is not the case here at all! But that’s not a bad thing. I don’t know what I expected from this book but this wasn’t it. After losing touch with each other for years and then finding each other again it’s hard for them to reconnect after all of the years in between and everything they’ve gone through. Touch the Sky is the story of Lucas and Gabriel who were online friends and support systems for each other when they were both going through intense times in their teen lives and both dealing with trying to come out to their families. Nyrae Dawn writes young adult and more adult romance under her pen name Riley Hart which I love. If they dont find the strength to face their own demons before the darkness takes hold, they risk more than just losing each other forever.I wanted to read this as soon as I heard about it – I love both Christina Lee and Nyrae Dawn so I couldn’t wait to see what they came up with together! Christina Lee writes both m/m and m/f romance that I’ve enjoyed a lot. And no matter how much Lucas wants it to be true, saving Gabriel wont make up for not being able to save his mom. Gabriels internal struggles are serious dangerous. Unfortunately, ignoring their problems doesnt make them disappear.

Neither man expects the fierce connection pulling them together.

The attraction is immediate, but its more than their inability to keep their hands off each other. Being found on the ledge of that bridge had changed everything. Lucas is still angry, but its not as if Gabriel could control how his mind and body had betrayed him. Five years later, both men are at a loss when they run into each other at a Hollywood bar. But then Gabriel disappeared without so much as a goodbye, and Lucas got himself in trouble with the law. Their pipe dream was to someday meet in LA, where Lucas would design skyscrapers, and Gabriel would learn to fly. They were only trying to deal with bad situations at home when they became lifelines for each other. Lucas Barnett and Gabriel Stewart didnt have it easy as kids.
